Can composite materials (in the case of insulators) be measured by the VE series Gap Detector?
You cannot measure insulators if they are made of composite materials.
You can measure the object which is made of a simple material. (The thickness which can be measured is 1/3 to 1/5 of the measurement range of the sensor or less.) |
|
You cannot measure the object which is made of two or more materials affixed to each other because the sensor cannot distinguish one material from the other. | |
You cannot measure the object with a spongy inside because the cavities change the dielectric constant. |
|
If the object has a spongy surface and a spongy inside, a measurement error will occur due to both the uneven surface and the dielectric constant change by the cavities. |
