Can composite materials (in the case of insulators) be measured by the VE series Gap Detector?

You cannot measure insulators if they are made of composite materials.
| You can measure the object which is made of a simple material. (The thickness which can be measured is 1/3 to 1/5 of the measurement range of the sensor or less.) |
|
| You cannot measure the object which is made of two or more materials affixed to each other because the sensor cannot distinguish one material from the other. | ![]() |
| You cannot measure the object with a spongy inside because the cavities change the dielectric constant. |
|
| If the object has a spongy surface and a spongy inside, a measurement error will occur due to both the uneven surface and the dielectric constant change by the cavities. |
