The setting method of linear gauge sensor (Installation tolerance, tightening torque)

Installation tolerance of a main unit setting

 

Use a stiff jig and set the main unit of the linear gauge sensor at right angles.

 

The recommendation value of the setting angles are under 0.15 degrees (Squareness 260 µm/100 mm). If you set the linear gauge sensor slantingly, the horizontal direction power acts on the spindle, and it will be cause of the damage of the main unit.

 

Moreover, please use the L-shape fixing jig to make it easier to set the linear gauge sensor at right angles.

 



 

Tightening torque value of the main unit setting

 

The recommended screw tightening torque values for the linear gauge sensor setting are shown in the following table.

 

Please make sure to check the movement of the spindle after tightening the screw. If the movement is not smooth enough, please loosen it that you may have tightened too much. However, if you loose the screw too much, the setting of the unit become unstable and you cannot do the measurement properly. Please pay attention to the movement of the spindle after the setting. Preferable, screw lock accessories are used in combination with it at need.

Please make sure to check the movement of the spindle after tightening the screw. If the movement is not smooth enough, please loosen it that you may have tightened too much. However, if you loose the screw too much, the setting of the unit become unstable and you cannot do the measurement properly. Please pay attention to the movement of the spindle after the setting.
