The outline of the DG-4280 Digital Gauge Counter (Components and functions)

The DG-4280 Digital Gauge Counter can be used in combination with the gauge sensor to operate the measurement. All of the GS series latest and previous models can be conformed to the device.

1. Front panel

(1) Display

Display a measurement value using 5-digit numeric with the unit of mm. When a measurement value is negative, "-" is lit on the left side of the display. When measurement error occurs, the displayed value is flashed. (Please refer to the "Trouble shooting- Flashing of the display" page.)

(2) RESET switch

Resets the displayed value, BCD output data, error display and error output after pressing the switch.

(3) PRESET 1 to 4 Digital switches

Sets the preset value for pass-fail decision.

(4) PRESET GATE 1 to 4

While the PRESET GATE (1 to 4) signal is inputted from the terminal block of the rear panel, the switch is lit on in red. While lighting, the decision result output is forcedly stopped and the decision result output turns OFF.

(5) PRESET OUT (1 to 4)

When a measurement value satisfies the output conditions of each PRESET, the switch is lit on in red. PRESET output conditions is common to PRESET 1 to 4.
Setup polarity= Measurement polarity and |Setup value| ≤ |Measurement value|

1. Rear panel

(6) Power input terminal (No. 1, 2)

Inputs power source of 100 V to 240 V AC

(7) Ground terminal (No.3)

This terminal must be grounded for safety in operation and noise elimination.

(8) PRESET GATE input terminal (No. 5 to 8)

When this terminal is short-circuited with <9> COM terminal (No. 9), the pass-fail decision is forcedly stopped and the decision result output is turned OFF.

Input terminal PRESET GATE
No.5 1
No.6 2
No.7 3
No.8 4

(9) COM terminal (No. 9)

Common terminal for PRESET GATE signal.

(10) (11) (12) (13) PRESET relay output (No. 10 to 17)

Turns on when the measurement value satisfies the output conditions of PRESET 1 to 4 with the single make output.

  Input terminal PRESET GATE
<10> No.10, No.11 1
<11> No12, No.13 2
<12> No.14, No.15 3
<13> No.16, No.17 4

(14) HOLD input terminal (No. 20)

When this RESET input terminal is short-circuited with <16> COM terminal (No.22), the displayed value and BCD output are held. However, the pass-fail decision result output is not hold.

(15) RESET input terminal (No. 21)

When this RESET input terminal is short-circuited with <16> COM terminal (No.22), the displayed value and BCD output, error indication, and error output are reset.

(16) COM terminal (No. 22)

Common terminal for HOLD and RESET signals.

(17) BCD OUT connector

Connector for BCD output, pass-fail decision result output, and external command signal input.

(18) SIG IN connector

Connects the signal cable of the gauge sensor.
