Motor rotation speed and its fluctuation can be measured in this application. No need to touch the sensor to the object or affix a reflective mark. This non contact measurement allows to be used for inspection of finished products. You can check and evaluate the controlling performance by measuring directly the behavior at the driven side even with the motor to which the encoder is attached at the driving side.

Forward rotation and reverse rotation of the motor can also be determined.
