The delay for the analog output (AC output) of the VR-6100.

All filter of the VR-6100 is internally processed by digital calculation. With the digital calculation, decimation (thin out the sampling data to 1/4) and filter operation for LVF are processed after A/D sampling. Display data is obtained by the RMS processing of this calculation result. AC signal is processed four times interpolation to return to the original sampling data after the filter processing for LVF, and output after D/A conversion.

The decimation/interpolation processing by the IIR LPF (Digital low-pass filter) is operated by the VR-6100, so the sampling delay time is not stable against frequency. Around 5 to 50 sampling delay may occur.

(The data is stored in the buffer to prevent the risk of inner calculation delay. The sampling delay time is determined by the relation between the ring buffer capacity and sample clock, so actual 50 samplings or more delay is occurred.) Therefore, the delay of the AC output is occurred due to delays of A/D conversion, D/A conversion and digital processing. However, the delays of ΔΣ A/D converter, D/A converter and digital filter calculation are fixed. (However, delay of each weighting of vibration sensation LVA, LVF and LV are different.)

The vibration level meter is designed by the concept of measuring the magnitude of vibration, so delay of AC output is not in the consideration of design. Therefore, the delay of AC output in the VR-6100 is occurred.
