Wire Encoder FAQ

How to display the moving distance

To display the moving distance of the WE-1011 and 5011 Wire Encoder, we offer the RV-3150 Reversible counter. (Please refer to this page for detail of the RV-3150.)

The value can be displayed in unit of 0.1 mm by using the double multiplication function of the RV-3150. The RV-3150 has terminal board for signal input, so please connect a card to extend the cables for wiring.

Please refer to this page for details of how to extend the signal cable.

■ Connection to the RV-3150

■ The wire connection of the RV-3150 terminal board

The terminal board of the RV-3150 Reversible counter is tightening type which connects the wire directly. Follow the instructions below for correct wire connection.

1. Use the wire size of AWG 28 to 16. (0.14 to 1.5 mm2)

2. Strip the wire by 7±1 mm.

3. Do not perform preliminary soldering at the tip of the wire. Soldering may disturb correct connection.

4. When fastening the terminal screw, use a screwdriver which suits the screw slotting size. If the screwdriver does not suit the screw, it cannot be fastened with the specified fastening torque, possibly damaging the screw.

5. Fasten the terminal screw with a fastening torque of 0.25 N·m. This torque prevents the screw from loosening and the wire from dropping out.
