FSCAN memory operation

1. Overview

The FSCAN memory is the memory which has 1 to 200 address numbers to store calculation results for individual octave filters. The stored data is retained until another data is stored in the same address number.

<Notes>

To store calculation results of the octave filters in the FSCAN memory, the optional 1/1 octave filter (LA-0561) or 1/3 octave filter (LA-0562), real-time 1/1 octave filter (LA-0563), or real-time 1/3 octave filter (LA-0564) is required.

■Precautions

Check the following points before storing 1/1 or 1/3 octave filter data in the FSCAN memory by using the LA-0561 or LA-0562.

• The data measured by the 1/1 or 1/3 octave filter is stored in one address for one scan data. After storage operation, address number is incremented automatically.

• Each band width switching time is automatically set as three times of the selected time in dynamic characteristic setting (FAST/375ms/SLOW/3s). • The data measured by the 1/1 or 1/3 octave filter is stored as the last sampling data for each band.

2. Storage operation with the LA-0561 or LA-0562

◆Operation procedure

1. Set the general measurement condition of the filter calculation, such as frequency characteristics and dynamic characteristics.

2. Select the measurement condition of the octave filter.
Press the panel switch [THRU/FILTER] to enable the filter. Then press the [1/1 1/3 R.T.] switch to select either the 1/1 or 1/3 octave filter. Press the [MEAS TIME] switch to set measurement time.

3. Activate the memory mode and select the FSCAN memory.
Press the secondary function panel switch [Mem Mode] to set FSCAN.

4. Specify the address number to be stored data.
The address number is incremented or decremented each time you press the secondary function panel switch [Address ▲·▼] . * mark is indicated next to the address number which has already been stored data.

5. Select the type of data to be stored.
Press the panel switch [LP/Leq…] to select the type of data.

6. Press the panel switch [Store] to start storage operation.
Calculation result data (LP/ Leq/ LE/ LPK/ LMX/ LMN) for each band is stored in the FSCAN memory. Scan operations are different according to the selected octave filter as follows.

• When 1/1 octave filter is selected.

THRU A → THRU C → THRU F → 31.5 → 63 → 125 → 250 → 500 → 1k → 2k → 4k → 8k → THRU A → THRU C → THRU F

• When 1/3 octave filter is selected.

THRU A → THRU C → THRU F → 20 → 25 → 31.5 → 40 → 50 → 63 → 80 → 100 → 125 → 160 → 200 → 250 → 315 → 400 → 500 → 630 → 800 → 1k → 1.25k → 1.6k → 2k → 2.5k → 3.15k → 4k → 5k → 6.3k → 8k → 10k → 12.5k → THRU A → THRU C → THRU F

After storage operation, the address number is incremented automatically. To forcibly stop the storage operation, press the panel switch [Store] again. To pause the storage operation, press the panel switch [PAUSE/CONT]. To restart it, press the panel switch [PAUSE/CONT] again.

3. Storage data recalling operation procedure

<Notes>

• When the address number is changed by pressing the panel switch [Address ▲·▼] with recall data displayed on the screen, the recall data is also changed accordingly.

• * mark is indicated next to the address which has already been stored data. * mark is not indicated to the address which has no data.

• # mark is indicated next to the address which has been stored the real-time data.

◆Operation procedure

1. Activate the memory mode and select the FSCAN memory mode.
Press the secondary function panel switch [Mem Mode] to activate the memory mode. Then press the panel switch [Mem Mode] several times until the FSCAN mode is selected.

2. Specify the address number to be recalled.
The address number is incremented or decremented each time you press the panel switch [Address ▲·▼]. * mark is indicated next to the address which has been already stored data.

3. Execute the recall operation.
Press the secondary function panel switch [Recall] to recall data which is stored in FSCAN memory. To turn OFF the recall mode, press the panel switch [Recall] again.

4. List display switching o recall screen

Each of the center frequency level for the 1/1 or 1/3 octave filter can be changed with the following procedure. There are three different list screens which display each of the center frequency level for the 1/3 octave filter. When the panel switch [LIST] is pressed (1st time) while the FSCAN memory data recall screen is displaying, equivalent sound level, the center frequency level of 1/1 or 1/3 octave filter is listed, Next, when the panel switch [LIST] is pressed again (2nd time), the ALLPASS level of each frequency compensation characteristics is listed. When the panel switch [LIST] is pressed again (3rd time), the original recall screen is displayed.

5. Recall screen and panel switch

When the recall screen is displayed, only the following panel switches can be operated. To enable the inoperable switches, press the secondary function panel switch [Recall] again to cancel the recall mode.

[LIGHT]: Back light ON/OFF switching

[Recall]: Recall ON/OFF switching

[2nd]: Panel switch function switching

[Address]: Address number switching

[LIST]: Normal screen and list display switching

[FILTER FREQ]: Filter center frequency switching
