There are two types of sound pressure level such as without the frequency weighting (flat characteristic FLAT) sound pressure level (LP) and with the frequency characteristic correction (C-Weighted) C-Weighted sound pressure level (LC). In addition, sound pressure level has two measurement modes same as the sound level, such as displaying instantaneous value and displaying maximum value in a second.
1. Measurement procedure of sound pressure level (LP)
Please follow the procedure below to measure the sound pressure level (LP).
◆Operation procedure
Set the measurement condition of this unit for the sound level measurement.
Display screen: Standard screen (Panel switch [LIST])
Frequency correction: FLAT (displaying P) (Panel switch [A/C/FLAT])
Dynamic characteristic: FAST or SLOW (Panel switch [F/S/IMP])
Set the measurement data display for sound pressure level (LP) measurement.
Press the panel switch [LP/Leq…] to display the sound pressure level (LP).
Set the measurement mode.
Press the panel switch [2nd] to switch the panel switch to secondary function.
Then press the panel switch [Tact Max] to set the instantaneous mode (INST) or maximum value display mode (TMAX 1) (maximum value in a second).
Read the measured value on the digital display.
2. Measurement procedure of C-Weighted sound pressure level (LC)
Please follow the procedure below to measure the C-weighted sound pressure level (LC).
◆Operation procedure
Please do not turn the volume forcibly or push it strongly. It may cause a failure.
Set the measurement condition of this unit for the sound level measurement.
Display screen: Standard screen (Panel switch [LIST])
Frequency correction: C (Panel switch [A/C/FLAT])
Dynamic characteristic: FAST or SLOW (Panel switch [F/S/IMP])
Set the measurement data display for sound pressure level (LC) measurement.
Press the panel switch [LP/Leq…] to display the sound pressure level (LC).
Set the measurement mode.
Press the panel switch [2nd] to switch the panel switch to secondary function
Then press the panel switch [Tact Max] to set the instantaneous mode (INST) or maximum value display mode (TMAX 1) (maximum value in a second).
Read the measured value on the digital display
