Level range setting
Level range setting
Level range
You can select the level range from (20 dB to 80 dB) to (60 dB to 130 dB) in 6 steps of 10 dB unit.
List of level range setting value
Refer to the following list to select the appropriate range including the level range to be measured. (Description of IEC-standards)

[Note]
When the value of each level range is less than the lower limit of measurement value, it is influenced by the noise from the Sound Level Meter itself. Please select the level range of the measurement sound within the range of upper limit to lower limit of the measurement value.
Level range selecting
Select the level range by pressing the panel switch [LEVEL(▲·▼)] so that the instantaneous value becomes around the center of the bar indicator. Each time you press the panel switch [LEVEL(▲·▼)], the level range increases or decreases in 10 dB unit.
Over/Under level warning indicator
Over/Under level warning indicator indicates OVER when the level range is 10 dB or more of the upper limit and indicates UNDER when the level range is 5 dB or less of the lower limit as warning. Please change the level range by the panel switch [LEVEL (▲·▼)] when over or under level warning is indicated.
[Note]
The LA-1240/1250/1350/4350 checks if the signal is in the over level before it is digitalized. Therefore, OVER mark may be indicated even if the display value is not 10 dB or more of the upper limit of the level range depending on the frequency or waveform of the sound. However, this is not caused by failure. Please switch the level range not to indicate the over level warning even in the above condition.
