Printer connection and setting
DPU-414 digital printer
The LA-1240/1250/1350/4350 can be connected to the optional DPU-414 digital printer.
You can print out the measurement data with following two modes by connecting the Sound Level Meter and DPU-414 digital printer with the AX-5042 printer cable.
Normal print mode | Perform normal print operation |
---|---|
Auto print mode | Automatically prints the memory recall data and result of timer measurement. |
When you use the DPU-414 digital printer, please purchase the exclusive AC adapter. Also, for the handling of the DPU-414 digital printer, please refer to the instruction manual which attaches to the unit.
Connecting with the DPU-414 digital printer
Connect the RS-232C connector of the Sound Level Meter and the DPU-414 digital printer by using the printer connection cable (AX-5042) as shown in the following figure.
Communication condition setting
The factory default setting of communication conditions for the LA-1240/1250/1350/4350 and the DPU-414 enables printing without any change of the printer condition. However, if the communication conditions have been changed before use, set the communication conditions suitable for the printer with the following procedure.
When you turn the power ON while pressing the panel switch [A/C/FLAT (RS232C)], the RS-232C ON mark is displayed on the LCD screen and the baud rate setting value is blinked at the bottom of the LCD screen.
Set the baud rate, terminator, and flow control in this order.
Select the numerical value by pressing the panel switch [LEVEL(▲·▼)].
Select the setting item (blinking) by pressing the panel switch [FAST/SLOW (NEXT)].
After setting, press the panel switch [START (ENTER)] to complete the setting.
The communication condition with the printer is reset and the Sound Level Meter is turned ON.

Measurement data printing
You can print the measurement data such as measurement value, internal memory, and data under timer measurement by the external printer which is connected to the LA-1240/1250/1350/4350 Sound Level Meter.
The RC-232C ON mark which indicates the transmission of print data is displayed on the LCD screen during the print operation.
Measurement data printing
When you press the panel switch [PRINT] of the Sound Level Meter, the measurement data is transmitted to the connected external printer (DPU-414) to start the print operation.
Memory data and data under timer measurement printing
When you press the panel switch [PRINT] of the Sound Level Meter for 0.5 seconds or more during memory recall or timer measurement operation (except for LA-1240), the RS-232 ON mark starts blinking and auto printing is started.
At the time of manual memory recall operation, continuous printing is performed from the currently selected address to the address which is stored data. At the time of the block memory recall operation, continuous printing is performed from the currently selected address to the last data of the block memory address under the same condition. During timer measurement, the measurement result is printed each time the measurement is completed.
[Notes]
The auto print operation during timer measurement is available only when the measurement interval is set to 10 seconds or more.
