Yes. GPS Speedometer using IMU needs initialization of IMU to let a satellite signal and IMU signal correspond.

Make a vehicle move at 30 km/h or more speed after the power ON. IMU initialization starts automatically.

Please make sure to move straight a vehicle to the moving direction.

The STATUS LED light on the front panel of the LC-8300 Compact GPS Speedometer turns orange during the initialization

After initialization, LED of STATUS is lighted green, and operation mode mark (N) and accuracy (numerical number) are displayed on an algorithm accuracy display section. The algorithm accuracy indication displays [NO] (accuracy not guaranteed) until the initialization is completed.

After driving the vehicle (not necessarily straight) for about 60 seconds, the accuracy indication changes from [N0] to [N2_9].

This method is used for initialization of both a built-in IMU and an optional compact IMU. The initialization must be performed whenever a power is ON
