The sound level (L_A: A-Weighted Sound Pressure Level) refers to the sound pressure level which is applied the A-weighted frequency. There are two measurement modes for the sound level such as an instantaneous value mode and maximum value per second mode.

 

1. Measurement procedure by the instantaneous value mode

Please follow the steps below to measure the sound level in the instantaneous value mode.

 

◆Operation procedure

Set the measurement condition of this unit for the sound level measurement.

Display screen: Standard screen (Panel switch [LIST])

Frequency correction: A (Panel switch [A/C/FLAT])

Dynamic characteristic: FAST or SLOW (Panel switch [F/S/IMP])

 

Set the measurement data display mode to sound level (L_A) measurement.

Press the panel switch [L_P/L_eq…] to display the sound level (L_A).

 

Set the measurement mode to instantaneous value mode.

Press the panel switch [2nd] to switch the panel switch to secondary function.

Then press the panel switch [Tact Max] to set the instantaneous value mode (INST).

 

Read the measured value on the digital display.

 

 

 

2. Measurement procedure by the maximum value per second mode

In the maximum value per second mode, TMAX1 is displayed on the screen. Please follow the steps below to measure the sound level in the maximum value per second mode.

 

◆Operation procedure

Set the measurement condition of this unit for the sound level measurement.

Display screen: Standard screen (Panel switch [LIST])

Frequency correction: A (Panel switch [A/C/FLAT])

Dynamic characteristic: FAST or SLOW (Panel switch [F/S/IMP])

 

Set the measurement data display mode to sound level (L_A) measurement.

Press the panel switch [L_P/L_eq…] to display the sound level (L_A).

 

Set the maximum value per second mode.

Press the panel switch [2nd] to switch the panel switch to secondary function

Then press the panel switch [Tact Max] to set the maximum value per second mode (TMAX1).

 

Read the measured value on the digital display
