• The strength of a crank shaft, which is the heart of an engine, depends on the fillet roll processing. Edge-breakage during the fillet roll processing has not only a big influence on the product quality (rattling or other abnormal noise etc.) but also a possibility of causing defect. In this example, nine accelerometers mounted on nine fillet rolls detect the impact vibration (attachable/removable by using the magnetic base), and the VC-3200 detects the abnormality during fillet roll processing. The variable processing function of the VC-3200 is useful to detect the impact vibration of edge-breakage during processing.
   
• The VC-3200 vibration comparator can set three kinds of frequency band and make Pass/Fail judgment by using rms, peak or power averaging calculated value (same for all bands) on each frequency band. The VC-3200 also has the comparator delay time setup function and auto function. The former delays the comparison judgment to remove unnecessary signals at the measurement start. The latter function can control the judgment timing by gate signal from an external (PLC* etc.).
   
• The measured data can be stored in a PC via RS-232C interface. The vibration sound can be heard by headphones instead of conventional probe. The output can be checked for each specified frequency band.
   
• By connecting a pair of commercially sold headphones to the VC-3200, it is possible to make hearing check of vibrating sound. Moreover, it can be used instead of conventional stethoscopic probe. Output signals are provided for each band, enabling an observation for vibration phenomenon on each frequency band.
